Association formation
The AICC association consists of honorary members and participating companies who pursue their own economic interests as well as want to promote the economic development of African emerging and developing countries. The participating companies range from tool and product manufacturers, international and local trading companies to commercial end users in trade and industry with a focus on applications in metal construction.
The first pilot country for the training measures is Senegal and metal construction companies based there. The acquisition on the manufacturer side begins in German medium-sized companies. The participating manufacturers see themselves as a consortium working in a complementary way around the tool requirements in metal construction and seeking a partnership with African companies.
In the initial phase, the association enables financing through public funds from the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation which is the primary partner of our project.
Our long-term goal is to develop projects that are self-sustaining through the participating companies and the growing trade relations and lead to a sustainable economic development from which primarily the local population in the participating developing countries benefits.
Our Goals
- Promoting employment in African emerging and developing countries
- Facilitate vocational training and qualification of people seeking training in Africa
- Improve quality, productivity and security of work in local commercial, industrial and craft enterprises
- Establishing international trade relations and accompanying economic cooperation on an equal footing
- Support and advise African trading companies and commercial end users in accessing modern products
- Support tool manufacturers in accessing African sales markets
- Fighting the causes of migration sustainably through local economic development in Africa
- Promoting and supporting cultural exchange
Background
Promoting employment-effective growth in Senegal qualitatively and quantitatively is a primary goal of German cooperation with
Senegal in the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is implementing the Special Initiative on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) under the Invest for Jobs brand.
In line with the economic reform goals of the Senegalese Development Plan (Plan Sénégal Emergent, “PSE”), among other things
worked in the field of action "Improving the conditions for investments by African and European companies in Senegal". This also includes accompanying European investors in identifying and implementing joint projects. In this context, GIZ wants to develop services for interested companies. At the same time, partnership at eye level is desired, which means efficient cooperation between professional companies from Senegal and Germany. Such collaborations should be established in consortia where possible, which should also be extended to other GIZ priority countries through the special initiative's global project in Africa.
